Clean Energy United States
Clean energy helped grids withstand a major heat-wave test
What happened
Canary Media reported that U. S. grids leaned on recent clean-energy additions during last week's heat wave, with solar helping Texas meet a July peak-demand record, offshore wind supporting New England, and hydropower imports helping some regions.
Why it matters
The caveat is important: rising heat and data-center demand still require more transmission, storage, flexible demand, and clean capacity so emergency fossil backup does not become the default response.
