Effective October 15, 2026
Sustainable AI giving
Beginning October 15, 2026, we commit 1% of eligible earned revenue from our products, services and memberships to work addressing AI’s environmental impacts. This commitment applies across the projects and businesses we operate. The recipient is pending while we await Elemental Impact’s reply.
For Affect Climate Change (ACC), donations and grants retain their designated purposes. This commitment applies only to eligible earned income, subject to ACC's governing obligations and approvals.
How we calculate the contribution
We calculate the contribution from payments received, excluding sales taxes collected for remittance, refunds and reversed chargebacks. The calculation comes before payment-processing fees, commissions we pay, contractor charges, product costs and other business expenses. Where we earn only a royalty or commission, that earned amount is the basis. Money collected on behalf of clients, loans, owner capital and internal transfers are excluded.
What customers pay
There is no cap or per-project minimum. The contribution comes from our revenue and is not an added customer charge.
Recipient pending
We have asked Elemental Impact whether contributions can be directed specifically to the Facility Cooling & Water Efficiency work within its Data Center Innovation Initiative. We will keep the recipient pending until Elemental replies and the allocation is confirmed. This inquiry does not establish an accepted restricted gift, a partnership or a completed contribution.
Records and timing
We plan to reconcile eligible receipts monthly and record the 1% commitment while the recipient is pending. The first payment date depends on confirming the recipient and its payment instructions. We distinguish money set aside from completed contributions and retain donation receipts. This policy begins on October 15, 2026; it does not claim that a donation has already been made.
What this commitment means
Contributions support charitable work. They do not measure or offset the electricity, water or emissions associated with our use of AI, and a purchase from us is not the customer's charitable donation.
