Global LNG trade reached a record high in 2025
What happened
The U. S. Energy Information Administration reported that global LNG trade rose 5. 4 percent to a record 56. 3 billion cubic feet per day in 2025, driven largely by expanding U. S. export capacity, while 2026 flows have been disrupted by the Strait of Hormuz closure.
