Tantangan solar-and-storage plant begins commercial generation

What happened

Developer ib vogt says its 99-megawatt-peak Tantangan Solar Power Plant in South Cotabato has begun commercial generation less than a year after groundbreaking. The project combines solar generation with battery storage and is the company's second solar development in Mindanao. The developer projects more than 150 gigawatt-hours of annual output, enough for over 82,000 homes, and more than 66,000 metric tons of avoided carbon dioxide each year.
