WMO says 2015 to 2025 were the hottest 11 years on record
What happened
The World Meteorological Organization reported that 2015 through 2025 were the hottest 11 years on record and that 2025 was the second- or third-warmest year, around 1. 43 degrees Celsius above the 1850-1900 average.
Why it matters
It also found Earth's energy imbalance at its highest level in the 65-year record, showing that heat is continuing to accumulate across the climate system.
