Solar helped Europe meet heat-wave demand, but evenings exposed the storage gap

During Europe's latest heat wave, electricity demand rose 28% in Italy, 23% in Hungary, 14% in France, and 13% in Spain versus comparable days. Solar generation rose as much as 17% in France and Hungary, but daily power prices still climbed sharply, especially after sunset.
